Prince George Upgrades from InfoLinx
Friday, July 15, 2005
FileTrail, Inc., announced today a contract to automate the Office of Child Support Enforcement of Prince George County, Maryland.
The office was previously using InfoLinx – a Windows-based application – to inventory and color code over 70,000 Case Files in the central file room. The legacy system did little to assist the organization with tracking active files as they moved among staff. Also, an annual Amnesty program created a need for rapid and accurate retrieval of files. During this, and other high-demand periods, locating and retrieving files for staff on multiple floors was labor-intensive and difficult.
FileTrail provides an office-wide application, accessible by all staff. Anyone can locate and request files without leaving their desks. FileTrail will generate the same color coded label the office has applied to all their files.
"FileTrail’s browser access has helped us make better and more efficient use of staff time. Our ability to quickly find files and access imaged documents is a tremendous asset during data reliability audits," according to Joan Kennedy, Director.
Even though the office had been running a file tracking system, the staff are very excited about new capabilities and time-saving features that FileTrail brings to them.
"The check-out process in our old bar coding system required four times as many steps as FileTrail," said Delores Jones, Deputy Director. "We had difficulty enforcing a checkout system before, but FileTrail is so easy that compliance is no longer a problem."
The Prince George’s County Office of Child Support Enforcement exists to raise the standard of living for children by enforcing their right to receive financial support from both of their parents. The child support program assists families with collecting much needed child support from non-custodial parents. The agency consists of about 135 staff, most of whom handle case files and view imaged documents in the normal course of operations.
