UK Ministry of Defence Implements FileTrail Oracle Solution
Sunday, December 06, 2009
The UK’s Defence Vetting Agency (DVA) migrated yesterday to a FileTrail system for tracking and managing Security files that are built in the process of doing background checks.
The DVA migrated from FileTracker for Windows – a Windows-based application – to FileTrail’s browser-based application. The legacy system required installation at any desktop where staff would want to access the system to search. As a browser-based solution, FileTrail was immediately accessible by all staff, with access and capabilities controlled by the powerful security within the application.
The FileTrail system is tracking and managing 350,000 active folders representing background checks and clearances. The system is licensed for 150 CALs and is running on an Oracle database.
